SONG BUK

This songbook is a collection of Christian hymns and spiritual songs compiled, composed, and translated into Tok Pisin by Jonah Askai for use within local church communities in Papua New Guinea. Developed with the support of the Crystal Independent Fundamental Baptist Church, Wau-Waria, the book aims to make biblical teachings and worship more accessible through familiar language and culturally relevant expression.

The songs reflect core Christian themes including salvation, faith, repentance, and praise, and are designed for congregational singing, personal devotion, and evangelism. Many pieces are inspired by traditional hymns, thoughtfully adapted to suit the linguistic and spiritual context of Tok Pisin-speaking communities.

Published as an open-access, non-commercial resource, this songbook seeks to strengthen worship practices, encourage participation in church life, and support the spread of the Gospel across Papua New Guinea.
