The Reporter - 1998 Compilation

This volume presents the complete annual compilation of The Reporter for 1998, the official news publication of the Papua New Guinea University of Technology (PNGUoT). Bringing together all issues published during the calendar year, the compilation provides a comprehensive record of university life, documenting institutional developments, academic achievements, research activities, student affairs, community engagement, infrastructure projects, governance matters, and significant events that shaped the University during the period.

As part of the Reporter Archives Collection, this publication contributes to the preservation and accessibility of PNGUoT’s historical records. The volume has been compiled from surviving hard-copy editions of The Reporter, many of which existed only in print form. Through digitisation and archival preservation efforts, these materials have been consolidated into a single reference work to safeguard the institutional memory of the University and support future research, historical inquiry, and public understanding of higher education development in Papua New Guinea.

The compilation is reproduced as faithfully as possible from the original publications. Apart from archival preparation and cover design, no editorial alterations have been made to the original articles. Consequently, the volume serves both as a historical record and as a primary source documenting the perspectives, activities, achievements, and challenges of the Papua New Guinea University of Technology during 1998.
